My Vintage 1963 Barbie Fashion Queen Doll!

Ok- So I took a small hiatus after April....

A lot of stuff has happened since then.

April marked our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary -- And it has been quite the first year!!
(that's a whole other post for a different day...)

April was also a huge event in my family's life. Years after losing both my grandfather and grandmother, our family decided to finally have an estate auction for my grandparents' estate in Athens.

Everything was on the Auction Block - - The House, 10 Acres, the vintage cars, furniture, personal effects and my grandmother's doll collection....

I did not get very much from the auction to remember her by, but I did bid on one thing...

My grandmother was very elegant.... The last of the TRUE Southern Belles, she was always the picture of class from her clothes, makeup, shoes, hair, jewelry and her whirlwind perfumy scent.

One of her passions, aside from gardening and her grandchildren - was her dolls!

She had a whole room of lit doll cases with hundreds of dolls; each attached with a tag and appraisal.

I was able to get this doll that reminded me of her! She is a 1963 Vintage Barbie Fashion Queen Doll!

I JUST LOVE HER NAME!
Vintage Barbie Fashion Queen Dolls were released in 1963.

Wigs were a popular fashion item in the early to mid-1960s. Fashion Queen Barbie had molded painted hair and came with three wigs.

This is how she would have looked in her original packaging!

This is an ad for the Barbie circa 1963...

I Just fell in Love with her look, her painted hair, and of course, her Blue Eyeshadow!!

I can't wait to build Bookcases in my house and Display her in All her Glory!

To Be Continued...
